Affiliate link checker

Paste any affiliate link and see what a buyer actually experiences: the full redirect chain, the final HTTP status, and whether your affiliate tag survives to the destination. No signup.

One link at a time · results in seconds · nothing stored beyond a day

// What runs when you hit Check

Three failure modes, one check

Full redirect chain

We follow every hop — shortener, tracking domain, network redirect — to the final landing page, timing each one. Loops and never-ending chains are flagged.

Real HTTP status

404s, 410s, server errors, DNS failures, and timeouts, measured server-side the way a first-time visitor hits your link — no browser cache masking a dead page.

Affiliate tag survival

The silent killer: a chain that resolves fine but drops your tag=, affid, or clickid along the way. We diff affiliate parameters at every hop and show where they vanished.

Affiliate links fail differently from normal links. A regular URL either loads or it doesn't; an affiliate URL can load perfectly and still earn you nothing — because a redirect hop stripped your tracking parameter, the network expired your ID, or the destination silently moved. Clicking your own link in a browser won't reveal any of that, which is why working-looking links quietly stop paying.

This checker runs the same first pass our monitoring engine uses: it requests your link cold from a server, walks the redirect chain hop by hop, and diffs affiliate parameters at every step. Amazon Associates links are the classic case — the tag= parameter must reach the final Amazon page, or the commission is gone. Our guide to checking Amazon Associates links covers that network in depth, and how to find broken affiliate links shows how to audit a whole site.

A one-off check tells you a link is fine right now. Links rot on their own schedule — products go out of stock, campaigns end, redirects get reconfigured. That's the job of continuous link monitoring: Affilert re-runs this check on every link you monitor and emails you the moment one degrades. Free for up to 25 links.

// Common questions
Is this affiliate link checker really free?
Yes — no account, no email, no card. Paste a link, get the verdict. It's the same check engine our paid monitoring runs, limited to one link at a time.
What exactly does it check?
We request your link server-side and follow every redirect hop to the final destination, recording each hop's HTTP status and response time. Then we verify the landing page answered successfully and that affiliate parameters (like Amazon's tag=) present on your original link survived the whole chain.
Which links can I test?
Any public http or https link: Amazon Associates short links (amzn.to), CJ, Impact, ShareASale, Rakuten, Awin and Skimlinks tracking URLs, Bitly/Linktree redirects, or plain product URLs. If it redirects, we follow it end-to-end.
What does “tag stripped” mean?
Your link started with an affiliate parameter — Amazon's tag=, an affid, a clickid — but somewhere along the redirect chain a hop dropped it. The page still loads, so the link looks fine in a browser, but the sale no longer attributes to you. We show you exactly which hop dropped which parameter.
Why not just click the link in my browser?
A browser hides the part that matters. Redirects flash by too fast to inspect, cached sessions and cookies can mask failures, and you can't see whether your tag survived hop three of five. A server-side check records the whole chain cold, the way a first-time visitor hits it.
Do you store the links I check?
The URL and its result are kept for about a day so your browser can fetch the verdict, then deleted. We never see who you are — no account is created and IP addresses are only stored as one-way hashes for rate limiting.
Can I check all my links at once?
This free tool checks one link at a time. Affilert itself auto-discovers every affiliate link on your site, Linktree, or YouTube channel and re-checks them on a schedule — free for up to 25 links.

Checking links by hand doesn't scale.

Connect your site once and Affilert finds every affiliate link, re-checks them on a schedule, and alerts you before a dead link costs you a payout.
