How limits, billing, and refunds work — before you pick a plan.

What's the difference between a “source” and a “link”?

A source is something you connect for Affilert to scan — a website, Linktree, YouTube channel description, or RSS feed. A link is a single affiliate URL we monitor for health. One source usually contains many links, and your plan sets a separate limit for each, so you can match the tier to both how many places you publish and how many affiliate URLs you run.

What happens when I reach my link or source limit?

Nothing you already monitor breaks — Affilert keeps checking every link you've confirmed. You just can't confirm new links or make new sources live beyond your plan's limit; when you try, we prompt you to upgrade. There are no surprise overage charges: you stay on your current plan until you choose a bigger one.

How do upgrades and downgrades work?

Upgrades take effect immediately, and Stripe automatically prorates the difference — you're credited for the unused portion of your current plan and charged for the new one. Downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period, so you keep the features you've already paid for until it renews at the lower tier.

Is paying yearly cheaper than monthly?

Yes. A yearly plan costs less than twelve monthly payments for the same tier — the exact saving is shown on each plan when you switch the billing toggle to yearly. You're billed once per year instead of every month, and you can still cancel or downgrade at renewal.

Can I get a refund?

Yes — within 3 days of upgrading you can get a full refund yourself from Settings → Billing. The refund cancels your plan immediately and moves you back to Free. After 3 days, paid plans are non-refundable, but you can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of your billing period.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free plan needs no card — connect a source, add links, and start monitoring right away. You only enter payment details if and when you upgrade to Pro or Business, and you can return to Free at any time.
